Here is Claire with her bear for her monthly picture:
She has really matured in the face and the way she reacts to people. She has started to follow peoples voices and look at them most of the time when they are talking to her. She is weighing in at 10 pounds, 10 ounces, and 22 inches long. She is no longer about the 50% where she was when she was born. She is nice and petite and fitting in the 35% everywhere except for her head measurement. She is in the 75% for the head measurement, but we are guessing some of that is ALL THAT HAIR! By the way.... that is what people's first comment is about our little munchkin. The biggest accomplishment that happened this month is that she found her smile! It is the cutest thing, but hard to capture right now! It happened on March 30th and it is just precious! We love to see little one's personality! Now, we are just waiting for her laugh. She squeals with delight, so we know it is coming!
You look like such a big girl in this picture!!
Schotzie and Claire love to just hang out together. Schotzie is very protective of her little sister, especially when we are burping. She thinks we are hurting her.
Playtime is also one of Claire's favorite activities. I can put her on her playmat for either tummy time or on her back. She loves the music and rattles to play with! She loves the primary and bright colors that it provides. This girl is definitely and independent person and enjoys her time by herself whenever possible. It is a nice break for mommy from holding her, but also grateful for the spirit I see in her so far that she will be adventurous, try things on her own, and can stand her own when it comes to learning to. However, tummy time can sometime be a downer.... she begins to scream when she really doesn't like it! She is starting to really hold her head up, but doesn't like to do it on her playmat. The best tummy time and head holding time we have is when she is sitting on mommy!
SLEEP:
Claire knows how to sleep!! She plays so much of the day she wears herself out! This is just one of the positions we find her in while she is asleep. We are one thankful mommy and daddy as for the most part Claire sleeps 7-8 hours a night! We would wake her up during the first month to eat and the doctor said to let her sleep however long she could. The first night she slept from 9pm-6am. We have one late night feeding about 9:30-10pm, swaddle, and put her in her bassinet beside our bed. Our favorite thing to do first thing in the morning is to watch you stretch out of your swaddle to prepare to eat.
Claire started going to church when she was 3-4 weeks old and hasn't missed a Sunday yet. It is always different getting her dressed up, but she always looks so cute! This is just one of her outfits. She outgrew one of my favorite Sunday outfits this last month.... one that mommy picked out. That was a very sad moment for me! Church is always a place that she is doted on and everyone always wants to sneak a peek at our precious little one. Claire- you are so lucky you not only have a family that loves you, but a church family that adores you as well! You got to celebrate with your 8 baby friends at their New Life Celebration this year. You also have gotten to meet one new friend that was born just days after your 1st month birthday! The nursery is booming and never quiet anymore!
Our girl is growing and for the most part very happy. She gets very fussy around 7pm until we swaddle and put her to bed for a nap before her late night feed. Others continue to remark on your cuteness, but everyone says what a "beautiful" baby you are. You are ours, so of course we think so, but everyone comments! You love to smile, play independently, go on outings, walk around the block and even take longer walks, have alone time with Daddy, and cuddle in bed with mommy on her chest!
We wouldn't change a thing at this stage, but we look forward to all of the new things and adventures you will embark on this upcoming month. It will be a HUGE one for both Mommy and Claire!
Love you sweet girl!
