Happy 31st Birthday to me!

31 was a very low-key birthday! I feel incredibly blessed by the people who surround me on a daily basis and fill my life with so much joy. Year thirty brought some realizations of  taking health for granted, setting priorities and keeping them, and growth in so many areas. I look forward to what year 31 brings and the adventures that I am sure will occur.

We had an enormous dessert that we attempted to eat all of, but there was just no way!!!

Friday night, Paul  took me out to Buca di Peppo. It is a fabulous family style Italian restaurant. To say we over ate would be an understatement.   We then went to CD source and looked around at CDs and DVDs just for fun! Paul spoils me rotten and got us a live taping of "The Phantom of the Opera" that was recorded at the Royal Hall in London and a new sofa table to decorate our living room... more pictures to come soon!

On Saturday, we had another busy day! I taught Saturday school with my Lone Star Challenge kiddos all morning. After that we got ready to go our Landscaping Consultation. A few weeks back we went to Neil Sperry's  Landscaping School and learned tons of good tips. With the class we got a free 30 minute consultation, which turned into 45 minutes to an hour! We came back with a whole design of what plants, placement, and sizing to begin with. We can hardly wait for the weather to warm up to get out in the yard to start our transformation that will take about 3-4 years.
Here is what we will start with.... we have our work cut out for us!

After going on this VERY COLD day to the Dallas Arboretum, we headed back home to get fancied up. Paul's parents took us to the country club for dinner and presents. We always enjoy our time with them!
 We so enjoy being together!!
 Always too many presents!
Goof Ball!!!

Sunday, the celebrations continued. This one was of a different kind though! One of my dearest friends is expecting a baby boy in about two weeks. Many of the ladies in our Bible class threw a shower for her! We had some fun and she got some really good stuff!  I made one of my books for her that I will show on another blog to come later. For now, here is a sneak peak of some shower pictures (taken from Megan's blog... thank you!) and some of the fun gift my parents, Kelly & Jay, and Paul & I gave!

It was a busy, but fun weekend! Valentine's Day to follow with some fun surprises! Here's to another 31+ years!
