Happy 5th Anniversary!

Five Years Ago.....
June 16, 2007
I said "I do" to a wonderful man. It is hard to believe that only five years have passed, yet it seems like yesterday. These five years have been great and full of adventures. We have gone on vacations such as Colorado, Disney World, Galveston, and a Caribbean  cruise. We have bought and redone a house together .... on our anniversary.Talk about one way to really get to know your mate and deal with things is to buy a house and the responsibility of home ownership. No marriage is easy though.... we have had the bumps along the way. I am thankful that we always come out on the other side of the struggle  stronger than we were before. Marriage in itself has been an adventure, and I have loved every moment of it for only one reason.... the man I married! I hope and pray for another 50+ years full of these adventures. I look forward to the new adventures and blessings that may come our way.

I said " I do"  to these things five years ago. They mean even more to me today than they did five years ago and I say them to myself every day to remember the covenant I made between God and Paul!

In sickness or health....... we have had both and I am thankful that you were there when I was sick and forced me to go to the doctor so we can enjoy our life together more, even if that includes somewhat of a restricted diet.

For richer or poorer.... we have not been "rich" with money, yet we are far richer than we could have been. With the struggles of the economy we had a year that was touch and go, but God brought us out strong and continues to bless us far more than we can imagine.

For better or worse..... we have had our good times and bad on both accounts. Deaths in families, work worries, health scares. We have been very blessed that life has been better than worse. I pray that if the worse really gets us, we work together to get through it and become stronger because of it.

To love  and to cherish.... I will take great care to show that I love him in the small ways and the big ones too! I respect the job that Paul has as the head of the household and the charge God has given to husbands.

Till death us do part.... I pray that this is many years away and that we both have lengthy lives because I can't bear the thought...... Here is to many more years!

Paul,

Happy Anniversary! It is a joy to be celebrating yet another year with you as my husband. You are a blessing in so many ways and I hope that I am able to show it to you in every way. You are my family and the person I love coming home to. You have filled my life with energy, love, and drive. Thank you for constantly being there by my side in struggles as well as celebrating the joyous times. I thank God for the relationship we have and are thankful that we are the strand of 3 cords that cannot be easily broken. Scriptures are important to me when I look at love and they have many encouraging words that will be our strongholds through life. I love you with all my heart and are looking forward to many more years together!

With all my Love,
Brittany

Here are a few scriptures I pray daily for our marriage to become even stronger:

1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm [alone]? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three [strands] is not quickly torn apart.

Colossians 3:14

And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

Happy 5th Anniversary Paul.... and to MANY more!!!!
