Our Anniversary Vacation

This year for our 5th wedding anniversary, we celebrated in a special way. We went back to the Gaylord Texan for an evening, where we spent our wedding night. I have got to say it was so nice not being completely exhausted and rushed while staying there.  We dropped Schotzie off with Jim and Gail and headed to the hotel about 11 am. They had our room ready so .....

Our room number for the night...

A bed full of rose petals in the shape of a heart....

We then got everything unpacked and into our room and headed to paradise springs where Paul was ready for the water slide.... over and over.... we also enjoyed the lazy river which you see in the picture!

After we spent some time here we got to spend time resting and relaxing just a tad before it was time for dinner.

We opened our presents to one another.... gifts made out of wood...

A little extra pinterest inspired gift made from a picture frame, our wedding invitation, and a picture! These will hold notes of appreciation and love to come!!

After exchanging gifts, it was time to enjoy our favorite restaurant in the hotel, the Old Hickory Steakhouse. We have been looking forward to this for a really long time!!! Before heading in we took some traditional pictures in our favorite spots!

And after dinner shared this scrumptious dessert!

We turned in pretty early and enjoyed watching television in the room, instead of prepping to go to the airport before 5 the next morning!

The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at the Riverwalk Cantina. It was a great buffet breakfast!!Then we headed up to the room and got ready to go lay by the lazy river, pool, and water slide!! We got water front seats!!!

We stayed for a bit and then decided to go grab some lunch and enjoy Grapevine Mills Sea Aquarium.

It was time to pick up Schotzie, but we sure did enjoy our day out!

Even better, Paul had the next week off and we stayed busy doing house stuff and just enjoying being at home together! It is a treat when he has a day off much less a week off with me! Yeah for vacation time!
